Understanding the Roots of Rejection

Rejection Equals Rebellion

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

One of biggest, most destructive weapons that satan uses against Christians, and anyone else in the world, is to cause them to feel rejection.

The spirit of rejection will separate you from the love of God. It is a lie.

People are destroyed through a lack of knowledge. As a result, it is very important for you to get knowledge. Knowledge brings understanding. Understanding brings wisdom. Wisdom will bring you freedom and perfect peace, which is where God wants you to be.

God wants you to know that you are accepted by Him. He wants you to experience the fullness of your inheritance as a son of God.

1 Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

Saul was motivated by people, not by God. It is very important for your strength, identity, and trust to be in the Lord and not in people.

Rejection is directly aligned with deception, which brings a fear of man. That fear is tied to being concerned about what people think of you.

The truth is, it does not matter what man thinks of you because man is not your judge. God is. You are accountable to God.

Saul fell into sin because he was in rebellion against God, fearing the people of Israel. His attitude was rooted in his ego and pride.

David, in contrast, was a man after God's heart, not after his own heart.

Sin Crouching At The Door

Genesis 4:6-7 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Your attitude towards God must be like clay. He is the potter. You are the clay. You don't say to the potter how you want to be made! You must allow the potter to mold and make you how He wants you. You have to be conformed into His image and likeness. That is essential.

God will bring correction.

He is a God of love.  His desire is to show you the way to inherit eternal life. If you are not willing to be led by the Lord, then there is sin lying at your door.

Sin is a demon. This demon's desire is to enter into you, take the leadership position from God and rule your life. It wants to have dominion over you.

It is important for you to receive correction and instruction from God, and not to reject Him.

Rejecting God will bring pride, rebellion, and rejection.

Saul's Rejection

1 Samuel 18:7-8 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?

Saul had the wrong kingdom in mind. He was being governed by self, ego, and pride. Saul felt rejected by the people because his heart was not for God, but rather self and man.

David, on the other hand, was a man after God's own heart. His heart was right with God.

It would not have mattered what the people said to or about David.

If you put David in Saul's shoes, and it had been David coming in after a battle with the people saying, "David has slain his thousands, and Saul his tens of thousands," it wouldn't have worried David.

David would have rejoiced because he was a man after God's own heart, and he humbled himself before God. David was not driven by his ego or pride.

Saul had fallen into self-idolatry and self-worship. These are some of the biggest enemies of the Christian walk. In Saul's case it was the fruit of his rejection.

The fruit of rejection is wanting gratification from man and the fear of man. It alienates you from the love of God.

Saul's heart was not right with God. He had not dealt with his ego or pride. Consequently his heart was not with God but with self and man.

Again, David was a man after God's own heart and his heart was right with God. He served God first, and then he served man. David knew the love of God. He trusted God and allowed himself to be led by God.

Saul in his rejection and pride rebelled against God and became an enemy of God.

Rejection is dangerous. The enemy will use rejection against you. It brings a tormenting spirit.

Saul received a tormenting spirit, which set out to kill David.

The demon of rejection attacks God's anointed. This is particularly the case with religious people who are under the Law. They are under their own self-righteousness and are clothed in Saul's armor and not the armor of the Lord. They have a false covering and a religious spirit.

When you see Christian snipers attacking other Christians, straight away you can identify a Saul spirit. The spirit and nature of Saul is a type and shadow in the Old Testament. The things that were are the things that will be. (Ecclesiastes 1:9).

History repeats itself. These are all types and shadows for you to see and identify circumstances in and around your life. You must be very careful not to be judgmental or critical of others.

Those attitudes are all rooted in pride, rebellion, and rejection.

The spirit of Saul is a religious spirit. Rejection brings a religious spirit.

The Demon of Rejection's Roots

• The rejection demon operates in and brings in rebellion. Most people's problems are rooted in rejection. We all in some way suffer rejection. The demon of rejection causes you to reject the Word of God and shuts you off from it.

• The rejection demon is all about false identity and being someone you are not in order to be accepted by others. For instance, Saul was motivated by receiving his own glory and building his own kingdom. He used all sorts of devices to protect himself. Consequently, he received a tormenting spirit. God allowed this spirit to attack him because he was walking in the multitude of his own idols.  If you walk in the multitude of your own idols, then God will answer you according to the multitude of your own idols. You will fall into deception. The spirit of deception enters in through doors opened in the spiritual realm. One of those doors is rejection. Rejection always leads to rebellion.

• Rejection leads to the tendency to reject others before they can reject you. A lot of the false gospels today are all about self. You. Me. I. It's all about self. Be careful. That false gospel entertains the spirit of rejection. It is leaven. Demons feed the disobedient and unsuspecting leaven. Leaven is anything other than the truth that is the Word of God. Jesus warned his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. The spirit of rejection will feed you leaven and lies. The tendency to reject others preemptively is tied to seeing others as a threat and the fear of man. The true spirit of God will enable you to love your enemies, not reject them. When you are led by the Spirit, you do not see your "enemies" as a threat anymore. David didn't see Goliath as a problem because he trusted God fully to deliver Goliath into his hands. God used the enemies of Israel to bring forth the true kingdom through King David.  Do not be discouraged by your enemies because ultimately God is in control. He will make your enemies your footstool. Love your enemies and bless those who curse you. Do this because you know that God is in control.

• Rejection brings self pity and negative feelings from being alone. The spirit of rejection brings isolation.

• The spirit of rejection also brings lust for the wrong kind of love. Rejection will lead you into lust, sexual defilement, searching for love in all the wrong places, and looking for love from man. If you want to truly love, then draw love from God and not from man. Then you will be able to give love. It is more blessed to give than it is to receive. The love that comes from God will burn, root out, and destroy the spirit of rejection. Rejection builds a false love that has everything to do with self-gratification, and not glorifying, praising, or honoring Christ Jesus. Rejection pushes you into ungodly, worldly love that brings destruction.

• The spirit of rejection will lead you to become prideful, believe that you know everything, and become unteachable.  Rejection causes you to protect and guard yourself. It brings in the spirit of Leviathan. It is an incredibly dangerous to walk in pride because God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. The spirit of rejection builds its own kingdom. It builds walls made of different demons. Each brick in its wall is a demon. It becomes a fortified city around your heart, like the walls of Jericho.

• Rejection will lead to an inability for you to be corrected and cause you to hate receiving corrective criticism. It builds a false security. The insecure become secure through lies and deception. It will cause you to be unable to receive the truth because it will blind you. This will lead you to reject correction from God and the Word of God.

• The spirit of rejection will starve you of true love and cause you to become isolated. Rejection is an Antichrist spirit. Rejected people are unable to receive true love. God's answer to people who feel rejected is to give them and show them love. Love conquers all! This is why the Word of God commands you to love your enemies, to do good them, and to bless those who curse you. By loving your enemies you pour hot coals on their heads, convicting them of the truth. Love is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The sword of the Spirit divides soul and spirit. It is powerful. The way to help those who suffer rejection is not to bash them over the head, but to love them.

• The nation of Israel fell into an apostate Judaism system, which was led by the Pharisees. They were very much governed by the letter of the Law and neglected the true nature of God, which is love. They became hardened in their hearts, became rebellious and suffered rejection. They rejected God because they were under the Law, and did not know the true God. They had another father. Jesus told them if they had known Him, they would have known His Father. They had a different father, who was satan. Jesus came to demonstrate the love of God, which heals and brings freedom from the spirit of rejection. Rejection hardens the heart.

• The spirit of rejection will cause you to blame everyone for your problems, including God.

• Rejection will cause you to be very judgmental and self-righteous.

• This spirit is also highly opinionated and needs to be right all the time. When you are self-rightous that causes you to need to be right all of the time. Walking in self-righteousness is perfect grounds and territory for religious spirits to enter and take dominion over you.

• Rejection leads to feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, and hopelessness.

• It will cause you to seek man's approval instead of God's. This leads to you having the wrong identity. That is exactly what demons do and satan's assignment against you...to give you the wrong identity. Instead of your identity being in the righteousness of Christ Jesus and his love, satan will put you under a counterfeit system of religion and give you a false identity. This system has a form of glory and righteousness, but it denies the power of God.

• Rejection opens the door to envy, jealousy, hatred, and self-hatred, which are all of its fruits.

• The spirit of rejection will also cause to fear confrontation and to form your identity based on what other people think of you. This is the fear of man. When the Jews were about to enter into the Promised Land they feared the giants. This fear was the direct result of them trusting in themselves rather than trusting in the promises of God. They did not believe the Word of the Lord.

• Rejection spirits bring in unforgiveness, bitterness, and self-righteousness.

• It will cause you to become impatient, frustrated, and angry.

• The spirit of rejection also causes people to be distrusting, particularly distrusting of God. This spirit opes up the door for lying, slandering, and gossiping about others.

• It brings in false doctrine and will stop you from receiving God's wisdom. It also will bring in pride. This is prime territory and grounds for a spirit of deception to come in and bring leaven. False doctrine is a type of leaven. The enemy wants to leaven you. When they have you in a place of rejection, they'll bring in leaven to lead you away from God.

• Rejection will cause you to go under the Law instead of walking in the true, New Covenant of grace. If you go under the Law then you will not abide in the Law of Liberty. The Law separates you from Grace and from God. If you are under the Law then you have fallen from Grace. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life.

• Rejection brings division. This is why there is so much denominationalism and sectarianism in the Church today. The enemy has fed everyone so many lies that no one can agree with others. Instead, the body of Christ should operate in unity, based on the simplicity of the gospel that is in Christ Jesus. Followers of Christ should be baptized into Him and into His love.

• The Spirit of rejection also causes backsliding. You can see that in the spirit of Saul, which was rooted in rejection. It will cause you to backslide, just as Saul backslid.

• This spirit will make you faithless. Not to walk by faith is sin. One of the primary objectives of this rejection spirit is to destroy your faith. How can you trust in and love God with a spirit of rejection? You will struggle. It is God's love that sets you free. When you are loved then you will feel peace, you will be accepted, and you will become by faith an heir of the promise of God.

Rejection is a dangerous weapon of the enemy.

If you've been living under the power of this spirit, then put up your shield of faith!

Faith will protect you from all of the enemy's bullets. It is the full armor of God that shields you from being on the receiving end of the enemy's fiery darts.

Love those that are under the power of rejection with the love of God. See these people with your spiritual eyes and remember that you are not wrestling with flesh and blood with powers, principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

People that are operating under the power of rejection and all of its roots are not your enemy. It's the spirits that have taken control of them. Sin crouching at their door took them captive and they became a slave to sin. In Christ, you are commanded to love your enemies because you know the truth. The truth is that God loves people living under the power of rejection. God sees them as a beautiful creation that satan has corrupted.

Rejection is An Antichrist Spirit

Rejection's root is mistaken identity. As a Christian, if you are wrestling with rejection then you are living under the false identity given to you by satan. If you do not overcome this spirit, you may never come to the understanding of the true nature of Christ. The rejection spirit will constantly feed you leaven and keep you in spiritual darkness.   

When you are living under a mistaken identity, you have been duped by satan and his lies.

The opposite of rejection is love, acceptance, adoption, and sonship.

The opposite of truth is lies.

The opposite of life is death.

Rejection builds upon deception. It gets you to build your house in Babylon and not on Christ.

Babylon means confusion by mixing.

Rejection brings fear not faith.

It turns you away from God, away from your cross, and away from Christ.

You must identify the truth. It is the truth that sets you free. When you understand the lies, and the leaven that you have been fed, you can overcome that with the truth.

This is why Jesus warned his followers to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.

It is only the love of Jesus Christ that can set you free from rejection. Jesus came to Israel who were under the apostate harlot and beast system and revealed His true nature of love.

Pure love.

But they rejected Jesus because all they could see was the Law. They could not see the love of God.

The Transformation

Galatians 3:27-29  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

When you understand the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, you will understand that your Old Man passed away in Christ.

The demon of rejection is seated in your old, carnal nature (the flesh). Rejection is yoked to satan and Adam in your old nature. The corruptible seed is what you inherited from Adam.

This is why you must take up your cross daily by faith to allow the New Man to take your position in Christ and rule over sin!

The rejection demon crouches at your door and you must overcome it.

How do you overcome it? By the Cross of Jesus Christ.

The Cross crucifies the Old Man, you die, and then that old seed of Adam passes away in Christ. The Old Man has to be put to death and nailed to the Cross.

If you are wrestling with rejection then you are wrestling with deception.

You must understand that everything old passed away in Christ, even the Law.

You are under a new Law now, and that Law is the Law of freedom and liberty in Christ. He fulfilled it all for you.

You are now a new creature, clothed in Him. You have been given a new identity.

When you are walking in rejection, then you are walking in your old nature and your old identity. That is the corruptible seed of Adam, the old sin nature. Jesus removed this for you through the Cross.

When you believe in Him you enter into His death, burial, and resurrection.

You have a brand new identity!

Jesus hides your shame and covers your rejection, shame, guilt, and sin with His righteousness and His identity. This is the awesome beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is a gift to you of God's grace. It is nothing that you did or ever could do. It was all done for you and all you have to do is believe.

God's love is unconditional. Without His grace you are naked.

You must see yourself clothed in God's armor and in Christ's identity by faith.

By trusting in Jesus, you are walking in that new, born again man. You've been born from above and are seated with Him.

Christ makes rejection your footstool. You do not need to entertain or be a slave to rejection anymore because you've been adopted, are accepted, and have been made righteous in Christ Jesus!  

If you are suffering rejection or feeling abandoned then you are actually just dealing with an identity issue that needs to be corrected by faith.  

Faith is the key!

Created By God For God

Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Jesus was rejected. But, he overcame rejection because He did not fear people. He did not fear the Romans. Imagine him walking into the Roman camp and facing His tormentors and torturers without fear. He felt no fear because He was perfectly aligned by faith in the promise of God.

Jesus was walking in God's promises by faith, abiding in the Father.

You now abide in Jesus. You are abiding in His promises. When you do that there is no fear because you have His identity.

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

You were created by God for God. To live without Him is death.

You were created by Him to be ONE with Him.

If you live in any other way , then you are allowing satan (the god of this fallen world) to steal your inheritance and your position in Christ.

Rejection steals your inheritance.

When you overcome rejection, you will be able to receive the fullness of your salvation.

Salvation encompasses everything that God has given to you in every area of your life.

Faith Incinerates the Root of Rejection

1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

This passage speaks of the fire of God, the fire of the Holy Spirit. God is a consuming fire.

When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, it is the refiner's fire that brings purity. It brings solidarity and unity.

It brings you to the completion that is in Christ.

It is actually simple and easy. God does it all for you. All you have to do is trust Him like a little child.

That fire brings in unity. When you have shattered pieces, the fire of God brings those broken pieces together, molds it together, and then purifies you and takes away the dross.

Everything that is not of God will get burnt up.

The genuineness of your faith is more precious than gold that perishes so that when you are tested by fire God will receive all the glory.

Everything is going to be tested by fire in the end to see what kind of work it is.

It is far better to let the fire of God burn out rejection now, then it is for you to hang on to it and suffer loss later on.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

We love Jesus by faith.

This the key to ridding yourself of rejection. It is accepting Jesus by faith and knowing by faith that He loves you and will never leave you nor forsake you.

You must know and believe that He is your righteous right arm. It is not by your righteousness but by His.

1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

By faith, you receive the salvation of your soul. Salvation of your soul encompasses everything that God has and is.  It includes divine healing, for instance.

It's the mind of Christ. It's the righteousness of Christ. It's liberty. It's peace. Its love. It's the true nature of God. It's your inheritance in Christ.

In Christ, you have all power and all authority. In Christ, you are seated with Him. In Christ, you are a king, priest, prophet, and an ambassador!

You are now royalty in His love!

Let that truth bring correction, peace, and all the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life.

It's His love. You must know His love by faith.

Salvation is the whole package of the work of the cross at Calvary.

It's everything that He did and nothing that you did.

All you have to do is believe, trust Him by faith, and repent.

Repentance is the key! God brings correction through repentance.

It's very important for you to repent for coming into agreement with rejection. To live under the spirit of rejection is a sin.

The Fire of God Refines You As Gold

Revelation 3:18-19 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

If you have rejection, then you are naked and are walking around without the armor of God. If you're in rejection then you are not accepting His love. You are not allowing Christ to clothe you. You are not walking by faith.

That's why the devil uses rejection against people. It is a powerful weapon.

However, there is an even more powerful weapon which will destroy every device of the enemy, including rejection.

It's called the Sword of the Spirit. The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, and is operated by faith.

You can't use the Sword without faith. if you don't have faith, then it will not work.

Isaiah 1:25-26 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

God has to purge out all of the evil in you with the fire of His Spirit. God is a consuming fire.

His love is a fire. His perfect love is a consuming fire. God is love. His love will heal and restore you. It will bring you into the unity of one mind, one Spirit in Christ, baptized into Him through faith.

It is important for you to understand that rejection is incinerated by God's love.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

1 Corinthians 3:13,15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is...If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

If you are entertaining rejection, shame, or guilt, understand that they are extremely dangerous demons.

Identify them and start to learn the faith of God. Ask God to give you the gold refined in the fire that you may be rich. That is about repenting before God.

You must repent. Fast. Seek Him. Really humble yourself that you may be rich.

The white garments are not your righteousness. The shame of your guilt, rejection, self-pity, and "woe is me" sins He will remove from you. He will clothe you with His righteousness.

Spiritual nakedness brings shame. When you are feeling ashamed then you are naked.

Pray that the Lord gives you eyes to see and ears to hear. Train your eyes to see spiritually and not looking with your natural eyes. See through the eyes of Christ and the eyes of faith.

Are you Building Your House Upon the Rock?

Our true identity is in the love of Jesus.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Rejection demons flee with the love of God: learn to resist them with the Sword of the Spirit.

Learn to recognize where your thoughts are coming from. Are they coming from the spirit of rejection (or from any other spirit) or from Christ?

Abide in His promises. Cast down any thoughts which are not in alignment with God's Word.

Remember that God will not reject you. He promised to never leave you, nor forsake you.

If you are feeling rejected, then you are not believing the Word. You are rejecting the Word, believing the lie, receiving leaven, and not receiving the unleavened Word of God.

His Word embraces you with His awesome love and grace!

You are accepted and not rejected!

The key is faith.

Do not be led by your feelings. That is not faith. That would be walking with your carnal senses, your carnal mind, your carnal eyes and your carnal ears.

The carnal mind is an enemy of God and cannot know the things of God.

God has equipped you fully to know Him.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Your foundation must be in Jesus and His Word.

You must remain in Him. He is your strong and mighty tower of love.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus can deliver you from the spirit of rejection and into His perfect love and the perfect Spirit of liberty. There is eternal freedom and all the fruit of the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus.

That is your true inheritance in Him.
