Pastor Worley, a native Texan, was an ordained Southern Baptist minister who introduced the ministry of deliverance in the Hegewisch Baptist Church. Hegewisch Baptist Church is a Non-Denominational New Testament church that believes the casting out of evil spirits is not a calling but a command from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Mark 16:17). In October 1979, Pastor Worley and HBC held its first Deliverance Workshop proclaiming and teaching deliverance to the multitudes. These Deliverance Workshops continue to this day.
Gene Moody was a 35-year veteran of the healing and deliverance ministry, working faithfully alongside his wife Earline to set captives free. Together they authored many manuals teaching the Body of Christ how to be led by the Holy Spirit during deliverance. The Hammonds authored numerous books on the topic of deliverance and were true pioneers in the field.
