Learn the importance of a true foundation in the Word of God especially the message of the Cross in understanding how to fight back spiritually. This blog post also outlines several solid scriptural principles to avoid deception from false religion, seducing spirits & doctrines of demons.
How to Fight Back Spiritually
Demon's Confession
We got this demon on the ropes once. It was bragging to us about all this stuff they'd done.
It was the time during the London Olympics. The demon was bragging about how Lucifer was all over the London Olympics and all of its symbolism. It was having a good old brag to us.
I asked the demon, "Why is there so much division and why is the Church in the state it is today? What has happened to the Acts Church?" It said to me, "We've had two thousand years to work on it".
For two thousand years, Satan's kingdom has been hard at work dividing the Church.
Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
What hope do you have if you want to know the real Church?
First, don't look at Man. Don't look at denominationalism. Don't look at religion.
Look at Jesus! Go back and look at the real Jesus and read the book of Acts.
Don't fall into the trap of believing in Man.
The Body of Christ
You are the light. Jesus is the light in you.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Who is going to kindle that light?
Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. Religion wants to snuff that candle out.
You need to have a revelation of the Body and the Body all coming together as living stones, built up as a holy temple where everyone comes together.
When we all come together, we are the Body of Christ.
What should the Body of Jesus imitate?
Jesus, obviously!
How?
By the spirit?
Which spirit?
The Holy Spirit.
What does the Holy Spirit do?
He lifts up Jesus and reminds you of all things to do with Jesus. He glorifies Jesus.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Which Jesus?
The real Jesus. The one you read about in the four Gospels, in Acts, and in the New Testament.
How Religious Spirits Work
Matthew 23:13-15 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Religious spirits dupe and blind people. They blind people to certain scriptures.
Stop going to Church and start being the Church.
The enemy's assignment is to pacify and make Christians complacent. They try this with everyone.
How to Fight Back
To fight back from a spiritual attack you need to be the Word and manifest the Word of God. The true Word.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Do not manifest false religion. Manifest the Word of God out of your mouth.
Be the Word.
That's what walking in the Spirit is all about. It is manifesting Christ through the Word.
Christ is the Word.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Everyone must learn to do this.
One of the biggest opponents to manifesting Christ in your own life is not only the devil.
It's also you. Your flesh.
One of the biggest hurdles everyone must fight is the Goliath in their own life, which is the beast. That beast is the flesh. It is being yoked to the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
The flesh wants to rule and reign in your life. It does not want to die. It does not want to submit to God.
When it comes to spiritual attack, the first thing you need to do is deal with your flesh. You must crucify your own flesh and present your body as a living sacrifice.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
You must humble yourself and do what Jesus said. He said that, "Blessed are the poor in spirit." He also spoke about the meek. That is all about denying yourself and taking up your cross.
Matthew 5:3-6 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Luke 9:23-24 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Many Christians are fighting the devil on his ground.
You can't fight the devil on his ground. You must fight the devil from your place in Heaven, where you are seated with Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
If you haven't dealt with your flesh, which includes repenting, humbling yourself, and making yourself of no reputation, and realizing that when you are weak then you are strong.
Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
It is also realizing that you can do nothing in your power or your strength, but that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
So what are you going to do?
First of all, humble yourself. If you can't humble yourself then you will be blinded.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
The Spirit of Leviathan Will Blind You
Leviathan blinds you. You can't see the truth if you are operating out of the carnal mind, which is your Old Man. You will not be able to see the truth. The carnal mind blinds you. It cannot know the truth.
That is the first step.
You must get a revelation of what Jesus said. He was our example. He dealt with his flesh.
This is why he came as the Son of Man as well as the Son of God.
He crucified his flesh so that the way of salvation would be easier for you.
Now, everything is accomplished by faith.
It is counted as righteousness to you when you live by faith.
The Message of the Cross
The first thing that you must understand by faith is the message of the Cross. Always go back to the message of the Cross. Do not get away from that message.
1 Corinthians 1:18-19 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
If you don't understand this very well, then get to know the real Jesus in the Bible, imitate Him, and do a study of the message of the Cross.
The message of the Cross is what will change you because that is the power of God to change you.
It is not by your works. You are not going to change yourself. No one is.
The more you walk with the Lord, the more you will understand His glory.
You don't have any glory. You've got nothing.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Jesus has got the glory, not you.
You will continue to make mistakes as you are still learning to separate yourself from the flesh.
You are learning to leave behind the old you and walk in the new you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
I was once ministering deliverance to a precious sister when the Holy Spirit gave me insight about her situation. I said to her, "You're not trusting the Lord, are you?" She honestly responded, "No".
That happens because people do not want to let go of self.
Jesus warned us about this. Unless you lose your life you will not find it.
Matthew 16:25-26 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Many Christians are shadow boxing the devil but that is about all they are doing. The devil is just laughing at them.
They have not crucified their flesh.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Once your flesh is dealt with, then the power of God can rest on you.
You have to get out of the way. Jesus has to get you out of the way.
Paul had that revelation that when He was weak then he was strong.
You Become a New Creation by Faith
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Jesus said that His grace was sufficient for Paul.
What does that mean?
It's His grace. Everything is by His grace, by His power, His glory.
You are a new creation.
How did you become a new creation?
It was not through the works of the Law, but by faith.
It was counted to you as righteousness as it was to Abraham.
When you speak the Word of God out of your mouth and believe it, it is counted to you as righteousness.
That is how you receive everything.
When you believe the Word with your heart, and are not looking at the situation, but seeing through your spiritual eyes, which are the eyes of Christ and your spiritual man, then you are overcoming.
You overcome by the Word of your testimony.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
And that is counted to you as righteousness.
But, on the other hand, if you are wallowing in self-doubt, pity, guilt, shame, and rejection then the demons have got you bound up.
Romans 4:5-6 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Jesus took all of those things for you. Many Christians are suffering with these beliefs and attitudes.
Fight From the Foundation of the Rock
To fight back spiritually you must have a solid foundation.
You have to fight from the rock. You must be standing on the rock.
Where are you seated?
How are you seated in Christ?
If you haven't identified with Christ in His crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection then you really need start there. Once you have understood and appropriated that truth for yourself, the Word says you are raised in the newness of life.
If you are raised in the newness of life, then who is living now?
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Who is working through you?
It's Jesus.
So, have a look at the real Jesus.
Have a look at the Word and start to follow the real Jesus. Follow the way.
Jesus said that He is the way and the life. He said that you cannot do anything without Him.
If you have died, then it is no longer you that live, but Christ that lives in you.
Who are you following?
Are you following your old, uncrucified senses? You must crucify your old senses.
Living with the Mind of Christ
Your new senses, the mind of Christ, is what you need.
The mind of Christ is God's mind. The old, carnal mind is your enemy.
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
You get the new mind of Christ by meditating on the Word. Never let it depart from your eyes.
Meditate on it day and night.
It's the Word of God that transforms you through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit transforms you, guides you, and leads you into all truth.
You have to learn to trust the Lord.
1 John 2:26-27 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
You must let go of your old, carnal ways and carnal thinking and let the Holy Spirit guide and lead you into all truth.
It's a case of coming out from under your own pride and self-righteousness and abiding in Him.
How do you abide in Him?
Through fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Now, it's about having a relationship with Christ through the power of His Holy Spirit.
Do Not Turn Away From the Simplicity of Christ
It's so simple. The Gospel is very simple. Do not get away from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
It was made for kids to understand.
Jesus said that unless you become like a little child then you cannot know Him or the Kingdom. You will not be able to walk in the Kingdom.
He said that unless you became like "one of these", referring to a children, you could not enter the Kingdom.
Matthew 18:3-4 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
He told the disciples not to prevent the children from coming to Him. He was showing them what children are like.
What were the children like?
They didn't have a care in the world!
If you are walking in the Spirit, then you should be walking without a care in the world.
Why, because you are commanded to cast all of your cares on Him and He will give you rest.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
So, walking in the Spirit is all about resting in Him and the finished work of the Cross. It is finished.
Where are you? Seated with Christ? What are you doing? You are now seated with Him.
So, stop worrying! Stop being anxious! Live by faith. Trust the Lord.
Rebuke your carnal mind.
Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
When you look in the mirror see Christ Jesus. Know that you are a new creation and that all things are new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You have to come against the old man, that old giant. It's like a Goliath in your life.
In a personal revelation, the Holy Spirit showed me that Goliath is the underdog. He was the weak vessel.
But the carnal mind looks at Goliath like he is undefeatable.
But God looks at him as a weak and already defeated dog.
The Flesh Is Defeated
Your flesh is already defeated. It lost at Calvary.
This is why you must go back to the Message of the Cross. When you understand the Message of the Cross, then you will understand that the power of your flesh got destroyed at Calvary.
It no longer has power over you.
That is why the Law of Moses could never reconcile you to God. It was weak through the flesh.
But now Christ has overcome the righteous requirements of the Law by fulfilling it for you!
Your righteousness is not through your own Law keeping but by what Christ has done and finished.
Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
He has reconciled all things to himself because he has defeated everything. Everything is defeated in Christ. He has reconciled it all.
Christ has overcome everything! The world. Sin. The Devil. Everything.
Colossians 1:19-20 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
If you are in Him, and truly believe by faith that...
you are in Him, and
walking in Him, and
you've been given all power and authority,
you've been given the keys to the Kingdom, and
you are walking in His Word,
and believe Him,
...then by faith it is accounted to you as righteousness!
That's how the Word works when it comes out of your mouth. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. A good tree brings forth good fruit and a bad tree brings forth bad fruit.
2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
What is coming out of your mouth?
You are justified by your words. It is by faith now!
The glory of God is all around you. Just look at the person next to you. God created all things for His glory.
How did He create all things?
By faith!
You are made in His image and likeness, and you have been reconciled to Him.
You are his child now. You are a son of God.
Walk as Jesus Walked
So, how should you walk?
Like Jesus walked.
How did Jesus walk?
He walked by faith and He listened to the Spirit, his Father.
So, how are you to walk?
The same way.
Deny your flesh.
Jesus denied His flesh. He said, not my will be done, but your will be done, Father.
It's the same with you. It is no longer about your will being done.
That's why many Christians get into trouble when they pray. They are praying for their own will to be done instead of resting in Christ.
Any situation that you face, regardless of what it is, if you will give God the glory, praise and thank Him, then I'm telling you that the peace and power of God will come on you and all those things will just disappear.
If they try to come back then you just keep praising God and say, "Lord, I thank you for this situation". Give him the glory for it.
When the devil is throwing everything at you, then you are being tested.
Psalm 100:4-5 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Job was tested like that.
Everyone will be tested like that.
At the end of the day, you must recognize that God is sovereign. He can do whatever He likes.
Don't question God.
Put your life in His hands and trust Him.
To be absent from the body is to be present with God.
You have to come to this place of perfect confidence in God.
Jesus knew that no one could take His life. That's why when the religious elites wanted to stone him for his words, He was able to walk straight through them all.
That's how you must be.
Are you really walking like that?
Are you following the real Jesus? The one in the Bible, not the one false religion and gospels try to paint.
Jesus said that if you've seen Him then you have seen the Father.
Which Jesus do you have?
2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
He is a pretty amazing God when you read about Him in the Old Testament.
Take the story of Gideon. God just whittled that army right down to three hundred men. He did this because if he hadn't then man would have taken credit for the victory!
Are you taking the credit for God's work?
You should not be taking any of the credit for His work.
If you are truly walking in the spirit, then God gets all the credit and all the glory. You are just basically in it for the ride, strapped into Jesus. He's taken care of everything. You have a first-class ticket when you are in Him.
To fight back spiritually, you need to check yourself and ensure that you are not standing on the devil's ground.
Deal with Unforgiveness
If you have unforgiveness and bitterness in your life, then you need to let it go. Jesus said that the Father will hand you over to tormentors if you don't forgive others.
Unforgivness leaves you on the wrong ground. You cannot fight the devil on his turf.
Matthew 18:33-34 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
You have to fight the devil from your position in Heavenly places so that the devil is under your feet. You can't fight the devil when you're up to your neck in water or mud. That will not work.
You cannot fight the devil while you're standing on slippery ground or a slippery slope.
You have to fight the devil from your place in Christ, from Christ.
So, first check to see where you are. Where are you fighting from?
Ephesians 2:5-6 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Seek the Kingdom and His righteousness and then all things will be added to you. Do not seek your own righteousness, but His. You get off of the way, confess that it is no longer you that live, and that it is not your will to be done, but the Lord's will be done, and He will do it.
Matthew 6:33-34 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
He will move that mountain out of the way for you.
But, it may not happen on your timetable, so don't lose hope.
He might have to move a few things around in your life first.
Be patient with the Lord.
Sometimes, you will get answered to your own idols and the iniquity in your heart.
